Autoclose forecasts
The Lumel Planning sheet can automatically close forecasts, provided that you know when the actuals are expected to be received. You can specify the close day either from the admin console or from the edit forecast settings.
1. Auto-close Settings in the Admin console (at tenant level)
From the admin console, you can configure auto-close for all forecast measures in all reports on a particular tenant. This feature is useful in scenarios where you have multiple reports and multiple forecast measures.
In Lumel EPM, go to Settings > Admin Portal. In the admin console, navigate to Settings > Forecast.

In the Auto Close Forecast section, you can set the calendar day or workday on which all forecasts should be closed. Select the Disabled option if you do not want to close forecasts automatically.
i) Calendar day
You can specify a particular day of the month when forecasts should be closed. Click Save.

The forecasts will be closed irrespective of whether the designated day is a weekday, weekend or a holiday.
Open forecasts are closed automatically on the calendar day specified in the admin console. This setting can be viewed in the edit forecast settings as well.

ii) Workday
The workday option excludes weekends and holidays and will close the forecast on the specified working day. Select the workday and click Save.

When the workday option is chosen, you can include the holiday calendar(s) to refer to. The forecast will be auto-closed the following workday, skipping the holiday.

This setting can be viewed in the edit forecast settings as well.

2. Auto-close settings at sheet level
You can also set the calendar or workday options in the edit forecast settings panel. This setting will be applicable at the planning sheet level.
Despite setting an auto-close date at the tenant level in the admin console, you can choose a specific day to close forecasts, which would be applicable to that specific sheet.

When you auto-close forecasts, the planning sheet can automatically extend the forecast period as well. Select the Auto-extend period range by 1 month checkbox to enable this feature.
