Create a BI sheet

While a Lumel Planning sheet allows for integrated planning, budgeting, forecasting, writebacks, and more, a Lumel BI sheet allows you to visualize, analyze, and report on your data.

This section describes the steps to create a BI sheet for your semantic model that you have connected to.

1. Create a new Lumel BI sheet

  1. Create a Lumel EPM item and connect to a semantic model as explained in the previous section. The screen looks as shown below.

2. Add Visualization & Assign Fields

To get started with the report, add the required visualization to the canvas. Lumel BI offers the following visualization options to add:

  • Lumel Planning Sheet

  • Charts

  • KPI cards

  • Table

  • Matrix

  • PowerTable

  • Super Filter

Let's demonstrate by adding a Matrix visualization first.

  1. Click on Matrix to add a matrix visualization to the canvas.

3. Adding Other Visualizations

Similar to adding Matrix, you can also include other visualizations in the BI sheet. The steps are the same as illustrated above, which involves:

  1. Clicking on the required visualization

  2. Assigning the required fields

The below illustration demonstrates how you can add a chart to the BI sheet.

Adding Chart

The Chart visual provides intuitive, context-aware customization options that enable you to interact directly on the charts and adjust settings without having to navigate through complex menus.

A Lumel BI sheet can include multiple visualizations as shown below:

In the next section, we'll discuss how to integrate a Planning sheet into the BI sheet. This allows you to include your simulations, scenarios, forecasts, Infobridge-queried data, and so on in your BI sheet, allowing for more consolidated planning and data analysis.
